"Skippy is the spontaneous fourth and last portrait in this little series – the pure sweetness in her amber eyes made me stop in my tracks and I knew I had to give her her little canvas to tell her story – one that reflects her incredibly ability to thrive beyond survival – curious, brave and full of energy."
Skippy's Story:
When Skippy arrived at Tacugama in June 2023, she was only about one and a half years old. Her tiny leg was badly infected from a rope that had been tied around it, leaving deep wounds that must have caused her terrible pain. She was also underweight, but otherwise in fair health.
According to the person who brought her in, Skippy had been kept as a pet for a week before they realized how much care she truly needed — and decided to surrender her to Tacugama. Our veterinary team immediately treated her wounds and started her on the long road to recovery.
Despite everything she had been through, Skippy’s spirit shone bright. She quickly became a star in forest school — curious, brave, and full of energy. With time, love, and expert care, she has healed beautifully and is now thriving.
Today, Skippy is part of one of our larger nursery groups alongside Shine, Janet, Pitaya, and many more young orphans. They spend their days in a spacious outdoor enclosure, climbing, learning, and playing together — discovering what it means to be a chimp again.

Return and Refund Policy
RETURNS
The policy lasts 14 days. If 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately I can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, the artwork must be in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.Commissions and artwork on sale are exempt from being returned.
To complete your return, I require a receipt or proof of purchase.
REFUNDS
Once your return is received and inspected, I will send you an email to notify you that I have received your return. I will also notify you of the approval or rejection of the refund.
RETURN SHIPPING
You will be responsible for paying the shipping costs for returning your item with a trackable shipping service and please consider using an insurance as well.
I cannot guarantee that I will receive your returned item or that you will get a full refund as stated above.
