Here's how Tacugama describes their characters
🐵 Ramba
Ramba was rescued by Tacugama in 2018 when she was about one year old. She’s a smart and calm little girl. Last year, Ramba graduated from the nursery group and joined one of our adult groups — a big step in her development! There, she learns how to be a true chimpanzee by observing and copying the older chimps.
Ramba is a quick learner and already knows how to crack nuts using stones. The entire group adores her — she’s a rising star at the sanctuary.
 
🐒 Fifo
Fifo was also rescued in 2018, when she was about 9 months old. She had been kept as a pet in a village, and arrived at Tacugama in very poor condition. Thanks to the loving care of our vet team and her surrogate human mothers, Fifo recovered well.
She still lives in the nursery group, where she is incredibly independent. The younger chimps look up to her and often follow her lead. Fifo is one of our ambassador chimps — and yes, you can (virtually) adopt her!
 
🙊 Miatta
Miatta was about one year old when she was rescued in 2018. Her “rescuer” claimed he had found her crossing the road alone in Pujehun District — which is highly unlikely, as no chimp mother would ever leave her baby.
Today, Miatta is one of the older chimps in the nursery group. She loves hanging out with the little ones — and they admire her. But beware: she can be very hormonal! The boys know just how to push her buttons and make her scream… loud and long.
